Kathmandu — Nepal’s newly formed government led by Prime Minister Balen Shah has announced four key decisions from its first Cabinet meeting held on Friday.

1. Tribute to Protest Martyrs
The Cabinet expressed tribute and respect to all known and unknown individuals who lost their lives during the Gen Z movement on Bhadra 23 and 24, as well as earlier protests.

2. Government Spokesperson Assigned
The Cabinet designated the Minister for Education, Science and Technology as the official spokesperson of the Government of Nepal.

3. 100-Point Governance Reform Agenda Approved
The government approved a 100-point governance reform agenda, which will be made public soon.

4. Implementation of Karki Commission Report
The Cabinet decided to implement the report submitted by the commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki:

  • Recommendations related to security agencies will be reviewed by a study committee before implementation.
  • Other recommendations will be implemented immediately.
