Amresh Kumar Singh is set to be appointed as Nepal’s Minister for Industry in the incoming government led by Prime Minister-designate Balen Shah, according to a senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
The decision to assign Singh the Industry Ministry has been nearly finalized as part of ongoing cabinet formation discussions, party sources said. Singh was elected to the House of Representatives from Sarlahi-4 in the latest parliamentary elections, where he defeated Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa.
Shah is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy at 12:34 PM, officially assuming the role of prime minister. Members of the Council of Ministers are expected to be sworn in following the prime minister’s oath.
Ministerial portfolios, including the Industry Ministry, are likely to be formally announced as the new government takes shape.
