Nepali Congress Central Committee Approves Five Key Decisions

The Nepali Congress Central Committee has concluded its meeting after approving five key decisions related to leadership, election preparations, and party organization.

The Central Committee of the Nepali Congress has wrapped up its meeting after approving five important decisions related to party leadership, election preparations, and internal organization.

The meeting took place at the party’s central office after the newly elected Central Working Committee, led by party president Gagan Kumar Thapa, formally assumed office. Thapa was elected through a special general convention.

During the session, General Secretary Pradeep Paudel presented a series of proposals, all of which were unanimously endorsed by the Central Committee.

Decisions Approved by the Meeting

First, the Central Committee unanimously approved a proposal to nominate Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa as the party’s candidate for Prime Minister in the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, 2082. The proposal was put forward by Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma and supported by Vice President Pushpa Bhusal.

Second, the meeting decided to form a Central Publicity and Campaign Committee to prepare for the upcoming House of Representatives election. The committee will be coordinated by party spokesperson Devaraj Chalise.

Third, the Central Committee approved the formation of a Central Office Building Reconstruction Committee under the leadership of former Treasurer Umesh Shrestha to oversee the reconstruction of the party’s central office building.

Fourth, Vice President Pushpa Bhusal was given responsibility for carrying out the necessary coordination for the National Assembly election scheduled for Magh 11, 2082.

Fifth, the meeting decided to form the Nepali Congress Central Executive Committee to handle the party’s regular organizational and political affairs.

The decisions made at the first Central Committee meeting under the new leadership set out the party’s immediate organizational priorities and its approach to the upcoming elections.
