The Koshi Province Police Office in Biratnagar has named Police Inspector Sagar Sah of the Letang Area Police Office in Morang as the “Best Police Officer” for the month of Baisakh, recognizing a series of initiatives that combined law enforcement, technology, and community-focused policing.

The provincial police office said Sah earned the recognition for carrying out his responsibilities with discipline, professionalism, and strong leadership while maintaining high morale within the force.

Among the key reasons behind the honor was his role in executing court decisions by tracking down and presenting a significant number of absconding convicts before the court. Police officials also highlighted his use of drone technology in crime prevention and criminal investigations, calling it an effective step toward modernizing policing practices in the region.

Beyond enforcement duties, Sah has also been credited for introducing several public-oriented initiatives inside the police office.

Focus on Technology and Public Service

Under his leadership, a digital display board was installed at the citizen assistance desk to circulate public awareness messages and service-related information. He also helped establish a communication branch within the office and introduced a small library inside the detention facility, an initiative aimed at improving the environment for detainees while encouraging reform-oriented policing.

Police officials said these efforts reflected an innovative approach to public service and helped strengthen trust between citizens and law enforcement.

Recognition for Community-Centered Policing

Koshi Province Police described Sah’s work as an example of how policing can go beyond traditional security duties and move toward a more technology-friendly and community-centered model.

The office stated that his contribution to improving communication with the public, modernizing investigation methods, and introducing citizen-focused reforms played a major role in his selection as the province’s top-performing police officer for the month.
