One Dead, One Injured After Lightning Strike in Syangja
A lightning strike in Syangja killed a 20-year-old man during treatment while another person was injured in a separate incident, with a poultry farm suffering heavy losses.
A lightning strike in Syangja district has resulted in the death of a young man and left another person injured, according to local police authorities.
Incident in Biruwa Rural Municipality
The incident occurred on Friday at around 7 PM in Biruwa Rural Municipality–2, Shreedanda. A 20-year-old local resident, Milan BK, was struck by lightning while he was inside his home.
He sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to the Provincial Hospital in Putalibazar, Syangja, for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, doctors declared him dead during treatment on Saturday.
Police Information Officer Prasanna Raj Chaudhary confirmed the death and stated that the incident has been recorded as a lightning-related fatality.
Another Person Injured in Separate Incident
In a separate lightning-related incident on the same day, a 50-year-old man, Tej Bahadur Thapa from Harinas Rural Municipality–4, Saruthar, was injured.
According to police, the lightning struck a poultry farm located approximately 300 meters south of his house. The shock from the strike caused injuries to Thapa.
He was rushed to Setiganga Hospital in Tanahun for treatment and was later discharged after receiving medical care.
Heavy Damage to Poultry Farm
Authorities reported significant damage to the poultry farm where the lightning struck.

According to Information Officer Prasanna Raj Chaudhary, both incidents were caused by lightning strikes during sudden weather changes in the region.
He urged local residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid staying in open or exposed areas during lightning activity.
