Yogendra Chaudhary Criticizes Order-Based Governance
Congress leader Yogendra Chaudhary calls for rule of law, warns against arbitrary decision-making
Kathmandu – Nepali Congress leader Yogendra Chaudhary has said the country is increasingly being run through arbitrary decisions rather than established systems and legal procedures.
Speaking through a Facebook post on Monday, Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Yogendra Chaudhary expressed concern over what he described as a shift away from rule-based governance. He said the current approach appears to rely more on “orders and personal impulses” than on institutional processes.
Chaudhary stressed that his party firmly supports governance guided by law, due process, and established procedures. According to him, the country should move forward through transparent systems rather than informal influence or unilateral decisions.
Reflecting on past practices, he noted that governance was once criticized for being driven by favoritism and informal networks. However, he warned that the present situation seems to have taken a different but equally troubling turn, where decisions appear to be shaped by directives and individual discretion.
The Nepali Congress leader’s remarks come at a time when debates around governance, accountability, and institutional integrity are gaining renewed attention in Nepal’s political landscape. His statement signals growing concern within political circles about the direction of decision-making processes.
Chaudhary reiterated that strengthening the rule of law and respecting procedural norms is essential for stable governance. He emphasized that long-term progress depends on institutions functioning independently and within clearly defined legal frameworks.
The comments are likely to add momentum to ongoing discussions about governance reform, with calls for greater accountability and adherence to legal procedures expected to intensify in the coming days.
