Kathmandu — The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is drafting its election manifesto under the direct leadership of party chair Rajendra Lingden, party officials said. According to party spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha, the manifesto is in its final stage and will be made public within the next few days.
“The manifesto drafting process is being carried out under the chair’s leadership, and work is underway to finalize it,” Shrestha said. “We will release the manifesto shortly.” The party is preparing to include agendas it has consistently raised, including the restoration of the monarchy as a guardian institution, the declaration of Nepal as a Hindu state, the abolition of the provincial structure, and the adoption of a fully proportional electoral system.
“These agendas have not yet been achieved, but we have raised them effectively both on the streets and in Parliament,” Shrestha said. “They will be included again in this manifesto.” In addition to its core political positions, the manifesto will also cover issues related to social change and economic transformation, the party said.
The document will further outline an alternative roadmap for the country’s future, proposing options to the existing framework of republicanism, secularism, and federalism. Nepal is scheduled to hold elections to the House of Representatives on march 5.
