Nepali Congress unity has been emphasized by General Secretary Pradip Paudel, who has urged party leaders and cadres to stay united during a challenging time. Paudel called on all members of the party to stand together, stressing that unity has always been the foundation of the Nepali Congress.
He noted that during every national crisis, the party has remained united and successfully led major historical changes in the country. Expressing concern over the current situation, Paudel warned against internal divisions.
He said that the party should not fall apart during unfavorable conditions and appealed to everyone to come together. “I am not only speaking as the general secretary but also as a sincere party worker—let us all unite,” he said. He further added that strength lies in unity and that only through collective effort can the party achieve a brighter future once again.
Central Committee Meeting and Ongoing Disputes
Paudel’s statement comes as preparations are underway by the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction to hold a central working committee meeting in Kathmandu. According to party leaders, the meeting is scheduled for today and tomorrow at 1 PM at the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi.
The Nepali Congress has been witnessing parallel activities between those who participated in the special general convention and those who did not. These divisions have contributed to growing tensions within the party.
Additionally, a legal dispute related to the recognition of the special general convention remains under consideration at the Supreme Court. The case was filed by the Deuba faction, challenging its legitimacy, and is still pending.
As internal disagreements continue, calls for Nepali Congress unity are likely to play a crucial role in shaping the party’s immediate future.
