Nawalparasi Administration Warns Rabi Lamichhane Against Election Code of Conduct Violations

The Nawalparasi District Administration has issued a caution to Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane, urging compliance with the Election Code of Conduct during his scheduled district visit ahead of the House of Representatives election.

The Nawalparasi District Administration Office has cautioned Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, against engaging in activities that could violate the Election Code of Conduct. In a notice issued on Monday, the district administration said it had taken note of Lamichhane’s scheduled program in the district on Tuesday.

The notice states that the Election Commission has enforced the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, to ensure that the upcoming House of Representatives election is conducted in a free, fair, clean, transparent, cost-effective, and fear-free environment. It also notes that an official notice regarding the implementation and compliance of the code was issued on Magh 14, 2082.

According to the administration, information was received that the Rastriya Swatantra Party chair man is scheduled to hold a public outreach and “Bell Greeting” program in Nawalparasi on Magh 27. In this context, the district administration has informed all concerned parties to refrain from carrying out or facilitating any activities that would be in violation of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082.

Meanwhile, the Rastriya Swatantra Party said that Lamichhane is scheduled to visit two parliamentary constituencies in Nawalparasi. The party stated that during the visit, he will meet with candidates as well as party leaders and cadres, and return as planned.
