The travel and movement restrictions imposed on former Prime Minister and Chair of the KP Sharma Oli have been lifted. The decision was taken on Monday by the investigation commission formed to look into incidents that occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24. The commission formally lifted the location-based restriction that had earlier been imposed on Oli.
Earlier, Oli had been barred from traveling abroad from Ashoj 12 and was also restricted from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without prior permission. In a statement issued by the commission, it said that questioning and other necessary inquiries involving Oli were completed on Sunday.
With this decision, restrictions that had remained in place for nearly 100 days have now come to an end. According to a press release issued by commission spokesperson Bigyanraj Sharma, Oli will be officially informed about the lifting of the restrictions.
Oli had earlier said that he had not been formally notified about the restrictions imposed on him.
