Sunil Thapa, a political adviser to President Ram Chandra Paudel, has resigned from his position, saying he wants to remain active in party politics. Thapa said he submitted his resignation to the President a few days ago, and it has already been accepted.
He explained that with his party’s general convention approaching, he decided it was the right time to focus on internal political engagement. “I submitted my resignation to the President, and it has been approved,” Thapa said. “Since the party’s general convention is nearing, I chose to stay actively involved within the party.”
Thapa was appointed as a political adviser to the President on March 30, 2023 (Chaitra 16, 2079 BS). At the time of his appointment, he was serving as a member of the Nepali Congress Central Executive Committee.
