Kathmandu — Sudhan Gurung, the first-past-the-post candidate from Gorkha–1 representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has announced the start of his door-to-door election campaign from today.
In a statement shared on social media, Gurung said the campaign will begin in Chumanuwri Rural Municipality of Gorkha district as part of preparations for the upcoming election.
Gurung said the campaign is not motivated by a desire for political office, but by a sense of duty toward the land of Gorkha and responsibility toward the country. He said he has come before the people with respect for the identity, history, and cultural heritage bestowed by Gorkha, a land known for its legacy of bravery.
He further said that the hardships faced by the people, their unfulfilled aspirations, and the work that remains incomplete form the foundation of his political journey. According to Gurung, the trust, support, and blessings of the people are his greatest source of strength.
Pledging to repay that trust through development, good governance, and honest public service, Gurung said there is nothing greater than the nation and no honor higher than serving the people. He called on citizens to move forward together for the dignity of Gorkha, the future of society, and the interests of Nepal.
