Around 30 percent voter turnout has been recorded in Siraha district during Nepal’s ongoing House of Representatives election, election officials said. Polling began at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, and voters have been casting their ballots across all four electoral constituencies in the district.
Chief of the District Election Office Siraha, Rajan Srivastava, said the participation level so far has been encouraging. He said that approximately 30 percent of eligible voters had cast their ballots as of the latest update.
Srivastava also said the voting process has been taking place in a peaceful environment at polling stations across the district. Voters have continued to arrive at polling centers since early morning as Nepal holds nationwide voting to elect members of the House of Representatives.
