RSP Contact Office Vandalized in Jhapa-5, Police Launch Investigation

A contact office of the Rastriya Swatantra Party in Jhapa-5 was vandalized, prompting police to begin an investigation in the security-sensitive constituency.

A contact office of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been vandalized in Jhapa Constituency No. 5, police said. According to authorities, the glass window of the house being used as the party’s contact office was found broken in Kamal Rural Municipality–2, Jhapa.

Police reached the area after receiving information about the incident and have begun an investigation. Superintendent of Police Basundhara Khadka of the Jhapa District Police Office said officers were deployed to the site to assess the situation and gather details.

“We have received information that the window glass was broken. Police have been sent to the area and are conducting an investigation,” Khadka said. RSP senior leader Balen Shah is a candidate from Jhapa Constituency No. 5.

Chairperson of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, is also contesting the election from the same constituency. Due to the presence of high-profile candidates, the constituency is considered highly sensitive from a security perspective.
