Kathmandu — The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has appointed its parliamentary party leader. A meeting of the party’s elected lawmakers held at the central office on Thursday unanimously selected Gyan Bahadur Shahi (Gyanendra) as the parliamentary party leader, party spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha said.
Shahi, who also serves as the party’s spokesperson, was elected to the House of Representatives from Jumla under the first-past-the-post system. Following his appointment, Shahi selected Khusbu Oli as the party’s chief whip.
Oli was elected to the House of Representatives under the proportional representation system. In the recent election, the RPP secured a total of five seats, including one under the first-past-the-post system and four under the proportional representation system.
