Nepal Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal Returns Diplomatic Passport

Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has returned the diplomatic passport issued to him for official use, saying its purpose has ended as the government approaches the final phase of its tenure.

Kathmandu — Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has returned his diplomatic passport, stating that its official purpose has been completed. On Tuesday, Khanal submitted the red diplomatic passport to the Administration Division, explaining that it had been issued to him for use in his capacity as Finance Minister and was no longer required.

In a letter, Khanal said the diplomatic passport provided to him based on his official position had fulfilled its intended purpose. He requested that the passport be formally returned to the Department of Passports under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also stated that the passport had been enclosed and handed over through the administrative process for its return. Khanal further wrote that the government is currently in the final phase of its tenure, noting that they are now in the stage of departure.
