Rajendra Lingden Urges Voters in Butwal to Value Their Vote Ahead of Nepal Elections

RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden calls on voters in Butwal to value their ballot, seek political understanding, and support anti-corruption efforts ahead of Nepal elections.

Rajendra Lingden, chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), urged voters to recognize the power of their ballot and make thoughtful decisions ahead of the upcoming elections.

Speaking at an election rally in Butwal, Lingden described voting as a decisive act that determines the country’s future rather than a routine political process. He said a ballot is one of the strongest tools available to citizens and should be used with careful consideration.

Lingden stated that in past elections some voters had been influenced by short-term inducements. He warned that such practices weaken democratic principles and undermine long-term national interests. According to him, accepting temporary incentives during election periods in exchange for political support damages the integrity of the electoral process.

Call for Political Understanding

Addressing the broader political climate, Lingden said the country requires renewed understanding among major political forces and institutions. He argued that politics based on confrontation and exclusion has hindered national progress and stressed the need for cooperation centered on national interest.

Lingden called on voters to strengthen the RPP’s representation in Parliament, presenting the party as an alternative political force capable of contributing to national stability and governance. He appealed to supporters of other major political parties to consider voting for the RPP under both the first-past-the-post and proportional representation electoral systems.

Anti-Corruption Commitment

During his address, Lingden reiterated that he has not engaged in financial misconduct during his political career. He also recalled his involvement in raising concerns and supporting scrutiny regarding alleged irregularities linked to the Pokhara International Airport project, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and accountability.

He said that if corruption is effectively addressed and governance reforms are implemented, significant national progress can be achieved within five to six years. Concluding his remarks, Lingden urged voters to approach the election with seriousness and responsibility, stating that a vote should be cast with the country’s long-term future in mind.
