RSP chairman Rabi Lamichhane Hospitalised in Kathmandu After Leg Infection

Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane has been admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment after a minor leg injury developed into an infection, according to the party secretariat.

Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is undergoing treatment under medical supervision at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

According to the party secretariat, Lamichhane sustained a minor injury to his left leg while attending a public programme in Janakpur on January 19. The injury, which initially appeared to be minor, later developed into an infection affecting the inner layer of the skin.

Doctors have advised that such infections can be risky if not properly managed. Based on medical assessment and recommendations, Lamichhane has been admitted to the hospital for several days for close monitoring and treatment, the secretariat said.

The secretariat stated that although the injury itself is not serious, precautionary measures are being taken due to the risk of the infection spreading. Following medical advice, Lamichhane will resume his regular political and organisational activities only after completing treatment and making a full recovery.

The party has also requested well-wishers not to visit the hospital, citing concerns that visits could inconvenience hospital administration and disrupt the treatment process of other patients.
