Prime Minister Sushila Karki urged citizens to cast their votes peacefully, describing the upcoming election as vital to national stability and democratic order.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Tuesday urged citizens to cast their votes peacefully in the upcoming election, describing the process as vital to the country’s stability and future.

Speaking during an interaction with local residents after attending the graduation parade ceremony of the National Cadet Corps Senior Division training as the chief guest, Prime Minister Karki made the appeal in Hattikhor, Nawalpur district of eastern Nawalparasi.

She said the upcoming election should not be treated as a routine political exercise. “This is not an ordinary election; it is a special one. I urge you to vote for peace. This is a milestone that must be crossed under any circumstances,” she said.

“Individual victory or defeat is secondary. Our first responsibility is to ensure the nation’s success. This is the time for all of us to stand together and commit ourselves to peace and transformation. If peace and order prevail in the country, those who feel left behind will also get their opportunity in time.”

After the formal graduation ceremony, the Prime Minister held interactions with students, parents, teachers, elected representatives and journalists present at the venue.

She also met with Chief Election Officer and District Judge Kamal Parajuli, Chief District Officer Bhaweshwar Pandel and other local security officials, receiving briefings on election preparations and the overall security situation.

During the discussions, Prime Minister Karki instructed the concerned authorities to make every possible effort to ensure the election is conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
