Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video message after Iranian media outlets circulated claims suggesting he had been killed or injured during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
According to Reuters, Netanyahu shared the video through his official Telegram account to dismiss the rumors spreading on social media and in Iranian state-linked media.
In the video, Netanyahu is seen sitting at a cafe outside Jerusalem, drinking coffee and speaking with aides. During the conversation, one of his aides raises the rumors circulating online and in Iranian media about his reported death.
Responding in Hebrew with a sarcastic tone, Netanyahu uses wordplay to address the claim. “I am crazy about coffee,” he says, adding that he is equally committed to the people of Israel.
Limited Media Access During Wartime
Since the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran, Netanyahu’s public appearances have been limited. Israeli authorities have imposed emergency security regulations, restricting public gatherings and advising residents to remain near shelters.
Most schools across the country have also been closed as security precautions remain in place. Reports indicate that Netanyahu has recently visited at least two locations hit by Iranian missiles, including civilian infrastructure such as a hospital and a port, along with several military sites.
Media access to these visits has been limited, with most footage released by the Prime Minister’s Office.
First Press Conference After War
Since the conflict intensified, Netanyahu has rarely given interviews or held press briefings. His first press conference since the start of the war was held last Thursday.
Tensions escalated after Israel and the United States launched attacks on Iranian targets beginning February 28, triggering retaliatory missile strikes and raising concerns about wider regional instability.
