The Nepali Congress has nominated Narayan Shrestha, the father of Dhiraj Shrestha who was killed during the Gen Z movement in Kathmandu, as a proportional representation candidate for the House of Representatives.
Narayan Shrestha’s name was recommended by the Kathmandu District Committee of the Nepali Congress. District President Sabuj Krishna Baniya said the recommendation was made in recognition of Dhiraj Shrestha, who lost his life during the Gen Z movement.
Narayan Shrestha is a resident of Kathmandu Constituency No. 7. The Nepali Congress submitted its list of 110 proportional representation candidates to the Election Commission on Tuesday, which includes his name.
Following the announcement, Narayan Shrestha said he has been receiving congratulatory messages after being included in the party’s proportional representation list.
He currently serves as the chairperson of the Democratic Indigenous Federation of the Nepali Congress for Provincial Assembly Constituency (B) under Kathmandu Constituency No. 7.
