Former Chief of the Publicity Department of the Nepali Congress, Min Bishwakarma, has said that no one within the party is exempt from complying with decisions taken by the party’s Central Working Committee.
In a Facebook post, Bishwakarma stated that the Central Working Committee meeting had declared party chair Gagan Thapa as the Nepali Congress’s prime ministerial candidate and stressed that the decision must be followed by all party members.
“The party has declared Gagan Thapa as its future prime ministerial candidate. The Central Committee’s decision must be followed by everyone. No one has the right to act otherwise,” he wrote.
Bishwakarma said there is currently no internal dispute within the party and that the Nepali Congress is united in its efforts to secure a majority through its election symbol, the tree.
He added that although some matters are under judicial consideration, consensus was reached during the candidate selection process to ensure that the elections are not affected. According to him, this has helped create a nationwide environment in which party leaders and supporters are campaigning unanimously for votes under the tree symbol.
“There is no disagreement at present,” he said. Bishwakarma also dismissed reports suggesting that a faction aligned with former vice president Purna Bahadur Khadka was planning to convene a meeting following the National Assembly elections, describing such reports as rumors.
As the party remains engaged in the electoral process, he urged party members and supporters to verify information through official party sources and requested that no actions be taken that could negatively affect the party’s candidates.
