Nepali Congress Calls Central Executive Committee Meeting to Finalize Proportional Representation Candidates

The Nepali Congress has scheduled a Central Executive Committee meeting at its Sanepa headquarters in Lalitpur to finalize the names of lawmakers under the proportional representation system for the House of Representatives before the Election Commission’s deadline.

Kathmandu — The Nepali Congress has called a meeting of its Central Executive Committee to finalize the selection of lawmakers under the proportional representation system for the House of Representatives.

Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal said the meeting will be held at the party’s central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.

Agenda Focused on Proportional Representation Candidates

The main agenda of the meeting is to finalize the names of candidates who will be recommended as members of parliament under the proportional representation system. Party leaders are expected to discuss and decide the list of nominees who will represent the Nepali Congress in parliament through the proportional category.

Election Commission Deadline

The Election Commission of Nepal has given political parties until Sunday to submit the names of their proportional representation candidates. In the recent House of Representatives election, the Nepali Congress secured 20 seats under the proportional representation system.

The party is expected to finalize the list of 20 candidates and submit the names to the Election Commission within the deadline set by the commission.
