The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) will formally announce its Central Committee on January 13. The decision was taken during a consultation meeting among party leaders that concluded late Tuesday evening at the party’s central office in Parisdanda.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, senior leader Jhalanath Khanal said that the names of the Central Committee members would be made public on January 13, followed by an oath-taking ceremony. Another senior leader, Agni Sapkota, said the party has decided to complete its remaining organizational structures by the same date.
“All Central Committee members will take their oath on the 29th,” he said. “There is a decision to expedite internal and organizational matters and to complete all organizational structures by January 29.”
The Nepali Communist Party was officially announced on November 5 following the unification of 10 communist factions. By the time the party was registered with the Election Commission for the purpose of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4, a total of 16 factions and individuals had been incorporated into the party.
