Kathmandu — Voting is proceeding smoothly at polling centers across Nepal in the ongoing House of Representatives election, the Election Commission said on Thursday. According to Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, a total of 1,065,120 votes had been cast nationwide by 10:00 a.m., representing about 6 percent of the total electorate.
Bhattarai said voters have been arriving at polling stations since early morning to exercise their democratic right, and the voting process has so far remained orderly and uninterrupted. The Election Commission said polling will continue until 5:00 p.m. across the country.
