Kathmandu — Voter turnout in Nepal’s ongoing House of Representatives election reached 24.78 percent nationwide as of 1:00 p.m., according to data released by the central election cell of Nepal Police.
Authorities said voters have been arriving at polling stations across the country since early morning to cast their ballots in the nationwide parliamentary election.
Gandaki Records Highest Voter Participation
Among the provinces, Gandaki Province recorded the highest voter turnout, with 32.69 percent of registered voters casting their ballots. Bagmati Province followed with 29.40 percent turnout, while Kathmandu Valley recorded 25.55 percent voter participation as of the latest update.
Turnout Reported Across Other Provinces
According to election authorities, Koshi Province recorded 23.15 percent turnout, while Madhesh Province reported the lowest participation so far at 16.15 percent. Lumbini Province recorded 25.40 percent turnout, Karnali Province reported 24.38 percent, and Sudurpashchim Province recorded 29.66 percent voter participation.
Officials said Nepal has a total of 18,903,689 registered voters, and 4,685,211 ballots had been cast nationwide by early afternoon.
