Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the courage, consciousness, and determination of martyrs have placed the country at a historic moment of transformation. In a message issued on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, Prime Minister Karki paid heartfelt tribute to all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for civil liberties and democracy.
She said it is because of their bravery, awareness, and resolve that the nation stands at a decisive juncture today, expressing hope that no mother’s lap would ever again be left empty. She also paid respect to the brave individuals who lost their lives in the Gen Z movement that emerged with aspirations for justice, equality, accountable governance, and a brighter future.
In her message, Prime Minister Karki stressed that the responsibility of building a state founded on good governance, ethical values, and respect for citizens must always remain in the awareness of those in power.
