Sunsari — Lal Bikram Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected to the House of Representatives from Sunsari Constituency No. 2 after securing a decisive victory in the parliamentary election.
According to the final vote count, Thapa received 57,348 votes, winning the seat by a wide margin. His closest rival, Rajiv Koirala of the Nepali Congress, finished second with 16,071 votes. Sujan Lama of the CPN-UML secured 8,303 votes, placing third in the constituency.
Meanwhile, Chetan Rai of the Labour Culture Party, led by Harka Sampang, received 7,484 votes, finishing fourth in the race. With the announcement of the final results, Lal Bikram Thapa has been elected as the Member of the House of Representatives from Sunsari-2.
