Kulman Ghising Says Energy Sector Work Has Become a Model for Nepal

Ujyalo Nepal Party chair Kulman Ghising says achievements in Nepal’s energy sector show the country can move toward economic self-reliance, speaking at a party program in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu — Kulman Ghising, chair of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, has said that the work he has carried out in the energy sector has emerged as a successful model for Nepal.

Speaking on Tuesday at a program in Kathmandu organized to mark the formation of the Ujyalo Nepal Kathmandu–Ramechhap Forum, Ghising said the achievements in the energy sector demonstrate that Nepal can move toward economic self-reliance. He said the party is committed to building an economically independent country while creating employment opportunities at the household level.

Ghising urged voters to support the Ujyalo Nepal Party in the upcoming House of Representatives election, stating that national self-reliance in agriculture, drinking water, and employment can only be achieved through political change.

He noted that Nepal is increasingly moving toward dependency, adding that although the country has made progress in achieving energy self-reliance, the sector remains structurally weak. Ghising also said that a detailed roadmap for the country’s overall development is necessary and informed that the party will soon make its election manifesto public.
