Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that there is no need for a special general convention within the party at present. Speaking to journalists after attending a meeting of central committee members aligned with party president Sher Bahadur Deuba in New Baneshwar, Sitaula said that implementing the party’s official decisions is the responsibility of all members.
He stated that party unity would be maintained if decisions taken by the leadership are properly enforced.
“Implementing the decisions made by the party’s Central Working Committee is the essence of party unity. This is not the time for competition among leaders and colleagues within the party. This is the time to move forward in unity for the elections. The situation seen so far is not good,” Sitaula told reporters.
He added that he and others are actively working to ensure the implementation of decisions made by the central committee.
“Politics is about accepting outcomes and moving forward. A special general convention is not the need of the moment. What is required now is full mutual understanding within the party to demonstrate unity during the elections. This is the time for everyone to focus on election preparation. Creating disorder within the party at such a time is inappropriate. Accepting the party’s decisions is the fundamental duty of everyone,” he said.
