KP Sharma Oli Says UML Targeted for Good Work, Urges Confidence

KP Sharma Oli says UML faces criticism due to its work, not failure, and calls on leaders to remain confident and committed to party principles.

kathmandu — Chairperson KP Sharma Oli of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) said on Thursday that the party has not fallen behind due to wrongdoing but has faced attacks because of its work.

Addressing newly elected lawmakers at the party’s central office, Oli urged members not to feel discouraged and to move forward with confidence.

Urges Confidence and Rejects Criticism

Oli said there is no need for frustration or loss of morale, stressing that the party should remain committed to its principles. “We have not been pushed back due to bad work. We have been targeted because of good work,” he said, calling on leaders to maintain strong morale and continue ahead with determination.

He added that the party should stay firm in its belief that it is on the side of truth.

Raises Concerns on Global Order and Party Communication

Oli also expressed concern about the state of global politics, saying the current international system is becoming increasingly ineffective. He said global institutions are losing influence and that the concept of a “world order” has become limited to theory rather than practice.

According to Oli, this shift is contributing to instability in global politics, where concerns about justice are weakening and unfair practices are becoming more normalized.

Oli also acknowledged that the party has not been effective in countering misinformation, stating that misleading narratives against UML have not been adequately challenged and that the party has not effectively promoted its position on social media platforms.
