KP Sharma Oli to Hold Private Sector Dialogue in Jhapa-5

KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to engage with private sector representatives in Jhapa-5 through a dialogue program addressing policy barriers, economic reform, and youth participation across key sectors.

CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to hold a private sector dialogue in Jhapa Constituency No. 5 on Saturday.

The program will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Sagarmatha Hall of Le Gorkha Department Store in Damak. The event is being organized by the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN). Oli traveled from Kathmandu to Jhapa to participate in the program.

According to HISSAN President Yuvaraj Sharma, the dialogue is titled “Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the Private Sector.” He said the objective is to facilitate discussion on private sector concerns, policy-related barriers, and youth-centered economic transformation.

Panel Discussion on Key Sectors and Policy Reform

The event will feature a panel discussion covering key sectors including education, energy, industry and commerce, health, and information technology.

Panel participants include former HISSAN President Ramesh Kumar Silwal; Ganesh Karki, President of the Independent Power Producers’ Association Nepal (IPPAN); former PABSON central chair Tikaram Puri; Nepal Medical Association President Gyanendra Karki; IT entrepreneur Sulabh Budhathoki; and Damak Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Gopal Guragain.

Speakers are expected to outline immediate and long-term sectoral challenges, policy obstacles, proposed solutions, and expectations from the government. The discussion will also address Nepal’s private sector policy framework and the relationship between Generation Z and the private sector, including youth entrepreneurship and skills-based economic participation.

Organizers said KP Sharma Oli will respond to issues raised during the panel discussion, including policy constraints and reform proposals presented by stakeholders.
