Chairperson of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has remarked that various tainted and incompetent individuals have been deliberately brought together as part of a conspiracy to systematically discredit nationalist forces.
Speaking at an ongoing Secretariat meeting, Chairperson Oli said that individuals carrying the agendas of INGOs and donor agencies under the pretext of development have come together in one place.
His remarks were directed at Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah, who has been nominated as a senior leader, and Energy Minister Kulman Ghising.
“Some individuals have deliberately taken on destructive roles, while others, driven by vested interests, have been involved in fraud, corruption, and acting as agents of foreign powers. Under the name of development, those who carry the agendas of INGOs and donors, and who are engaged in a planned conspiracy to defame nationalist forces, appear to have gathered various tainted and incompetent individuals in one place,” Oli said.
Oli stated that because the Nepali people’s sense of patriotism and nationalism remains extremely strong, those groups did not dare to claim the incidents that occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24 as a major achievement.
“They were able neither to take credit for that movement nor to free themselves from the burden of the damage inflicted on the country. Ultimately, the situation has arisen where they themselves must bear responsibility for the acts that led to the country’s destruction,” Oli said.
Oli also said that serious attention must be paid to activities aimed at inciting social hatred and fueling conflict in Dhanusha and Birgunj. He expressed concern that such actions could have a severe impact on social harmony, mutual trust, and national unity.
“Therefore, we sincerely urge the government and all concerned stakeholders to immediately stop these activities, take action against those responsible, and play a responsible role in maintaining peace and social harmony,” Oli said during the meeting.
