Kathmandu — CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli cast his vote on Thursday at a polling center in Balkot, Bhaktapur-2, during Nepal’s ongoing House of Representatives election. Oli voted at the Mahendra Shanti School polling station in Balkot earlier in the day as voters across the country participated in the nationwide parliamentary election.
He is a candidate from Jhapa Constituency-5 in the House of Representatives election. According to election officials, voters have been arriving at polling stations since early morning and casting their ballots in a peaceful environment.
Officials said minor crowds have been observed at some polling centers, but the voting process has continued smoothly. The Election Commission said security arrangements have been strengthened across the country and no unpleasant incidents have been reported so far.
Authorities also expect voter turnout to increase later in the day as more citizens visit polling centers to exercise their voting rights.
