Iran Missile Attack on Tel Aviv After Ali Larijani Killing Raises Tensions

Iran carried out a missile strike on Tel Aviv after the killing of senior official Ali Larijani, raising concerns over civilian safety and regional escalation.

Kathmandu — Iran launched a missile strike targeting Israel’s capital, Tel Aviv, on Tuesday evening, according to international media reports. The attack reportedly struck densely populated areas of the city, raising concerns over civilian safety and escalating tensions in the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict.

Attack Follows Killing of Senior Iranian Official

Iran said the strike was carried out in response to the killing of senior security official Ali Larijani, who was killed in an Israeli attack a day earlier. According to Reuters, Larijani was among the highest-ranking Iranian officials killed since the conflict began and was involved in shaping Iran’s strategic response.

Reports said the missile carried a cluster warhead, which disperses multiple smaller explosives mid-air, making interception difficult. According to Reuters, one projectile hit the Ramat Gan area near Tel Aviv, killing an elderly couple. Homes and vehicles in the area were also damaged.

Projectile Lands Near Nuclear Facility in Iran

Iranian authorities said a projectile landed near the Bushehr nuclear power plant on Tuesday evening but caused no damage or casualties.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said it had been informed of the incident. Director General Rafael Grossi urged all sides to exercise maximum restraint to avoid any nuclear-related risks.
