Heli Everest Helicopter Returns to Kathmandu After Failing to Land in Jhapa

A helicopter that flew to Jhapa after voting in Kathmandu returned to the capital without landing there. Airport officials said the aircraft is returning to Tribhuvan International Airport while the reason it could not land in Jhapa remains unclear.

Kathmandu — A helicopter that flew to Jhapa after voting in Kathmandu returned to the capital without landing there. According to Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Santosh Kumar Basnet, the helicopter operated by Heli Everest was unable to land in Jhapa and is returning to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Basnet said the helicopter is expected to land in Kathmandu shortly. “It will land here again shortly. At the moment, we cannot say why it could not land there, but it is currently returning,” he said.

Further details about the incident have not yet been made public. Authorities are expected to provide more information once the situation becomes clear.
