Health workers in Sudurpashchim Province protested in front of the Chief Minister’s office, opposing the recently enacted Local Level Service Formation Act. They argue that the act creates discrimination against healthcare professionals and may restrict citizens’ access to health services.

The protesters called for urgent amendments to the act to ensure equal and accessible healthcare for all. “Health rights must be guaranteed. Health institutions should operate openly, and all citizens should have access to quality healthcare,” they said.

During the demonstration, health workers urged the government to engage in dialogue with all stakeholders and address their concerns. They demanded immediate talks to review and revise the legislation to consider all parties involved.

The provincial government has yet to respond officially to the protest and the health workers’ demands. This protest may prompt future policy changes. Observers say it is time for the government to take steps to improve the health service system.
