Home Minister Sudan Gurung reviewed disaster preparedness and border security in a high-level meeting with APF chief Raju Aryal and senior officials.
The meeting focused on strengthening disaster preparedness, with discussions on early planning, risk reduction, and improving coordination among agencies. Officials stressed the importance of efficient resource management and timely response systems.
Nepal remains highly vulnerable to floods, landslides, and earthquakes. Participants highlighted that disaster preparedness must be improved at both central and local levels to reduce risks and protect lives. Strong coordination and rapid response were identified as key priorities.
Border security was another major focus of the meeting. Authorities agreed to tighten border patrolling in sensitive areas to prevent illegal activities. Security agencies have been directed to take strict action against smuggling and cross-border crimes.
Officials also discussed improving communication between security forces and local administrations. Better information-sharing systems are expected to enhance emergency response and strengthen monitoring in border regions.
