Kathmandu — Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav,’ General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), has expressed dissatisfaction with the newly formed interim government. He remarked that while the rebellion and momentum for change were carried forward by Generation Z, state power has instead been seized by Generation X.
According to him, the interim government led by former Chief Justice Sushila Karki does not reflect the aspirations of the public or the essence of the recent movement. In a statement issued by Biplav, he noted, “Gen-Z carried out the rebellion, but the government has been handed over to Gen-X. This process has ignored the will of citizens and the demands of the struggling forces.”
Biplav Questions Interim Government
Biplav reiterated the need for an all-party interim government that would bring together protest movements, civil society, and political forces engaged in struggle. He claimed that the current arrangement reflects the influence of non-leftist and non-people-centric ideologies, which both political circles and the general public are unlikely to accept in the long run.
Issuing a warning, he said, “The current form of this government does not resolve the transitional crisis. Instead, it risks prolonging instability and pushing the country into deeper uncertainty.”
Call for All-Inclusive Political Approach
Arguing that the existing system cannot provide a solution to the nation’s problems, Biplav underscored the need for state restructuring and rewriting of the constitution. He warned that sidelining forces that have long fought against corruption, betrayal of national interests, smuggling, and brokerage would only aggravate the crisis.
Demand for Restructuring and Rewrite
“To steer the nation in the right direction, people must remain vigilant in time. Our party will stand firmly for national independence, self-reliance, people’s rights, and socialism rooted in Nepali characteristics,” he stated.
