Gen-Z Leader Rakshya Bam Urges Nepal Government to Release Gen-Z Movement Investigation Report

Gen-Z representative Rakshya Bam has called on the government to publish the Gen-Z movement investigation report, warning that delays are fueling allegations and public pressure.

Kathmandu — Gen-Z representative Rakshya Bam has called on the government to make public the investigation report related to the Gen-Z movement, stating that delays in its release are creating confusion and increasing pressure on those involved.

In a statement posted on social media on Saturday, Bam said the country had reached its current stage after moving through a political transition toward peaceful elections. She acknowledged the leadership’s role in that process but stressed that emerging public concerns must be addressed in a timely manner.

Bam said the report has not been made public despite growing questions, which has led to continued allegations and criticism against individuals associated with the movement.

Concerns Over Allegations and Call for Accountability

She stated that those involved have been facing accusations, online harassment, and public mistreatment. According to her, criticism through social media, inbox messages, and comments has become a regular occurrence, while incidents seen on the street have also been reported.

Bam said she has repeatedly responded to questions and allegations directed at her, but added that personal clarification alone is no longer sufficient. She urged the government to release the report to provide clear answers to the public. Bam stated that without official findings, individuals may continue to face long-term allegations without verification.

She also raised questions about key incidents related to the movement, including how a peaceful protest turned violent, who authorized the use of force, and who was responsible for incidents such as the alleged burning at Singha Durbar.

Bam said she also wants clarity on accusations made against her, including whether she was involved in any unlawful activities or influenced by external actors. She concluded by stating that releasing the investigation report is the government’s responsibility and necessary to address public concerns.
