Gen-Z Movement Alliance Urges Nepali Congress to Use Special Convention for Reform

The Gen-Z Movement Alliance has urged the Nepali Congress to ensure that its upcoming special convention becomes a starting point for institutional reform rather than a purely formal gathering.

The Gen-Z Movement Alliance has urged the Nepali Congress to ensure that its upcoming special convention serves as a starting point for institutional reform rather than remaining a purely formal gathering.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the alliance welcomed the party’s decision to hold a special convention and called on party leaders and cadres to use the event to initiate organizational reforms.

According to the statement, leaders of the Nepali Congress must provide clear answers regarding the party’s leadership, organizational structure, policies, and future programs.

“With the special convention of the country’s oldest political party, the Nepali Congress, scheduled for Poush 26, party leaders and cadres must be prepared to clearly explain what kind of leadership, organization, policies, and future programs the party will pursue,” the statement said. “Persistent disorder must be ended. Politics cannot be conducted on the basis of history alone.”

The alliance said internal democracy within political parties requires active intervention by leaders and cadres from within the organization. The statement also extended best wishes to the Nepali Congress and other political parties preparing for conventions, expressing expectations for reform and change.

“As the country approaches elections, political parties must demonstrate internal change before seeking a public mandate,” the statement said. “Only then can justice be done to the nation and its people.”

The Gen-Z Movement Alliance said political parties should recognize and understand the influence, capacity, and message of Generation Z within the country’s political landscape.
