Nepali Congress President and House of Representatives candidate from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, Gagan Thapa, has said voters will not need to search for their elected representative if he is elected from Sarlahi-4.
During door-to-door outreach in Bhagwatipur and Simara in Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, Gagan Thapa responded to complaints from residents who said candidates seek votes during elections but do not return afterward.
Thapa said he would establish a permanent contact office in Sarlahi-4 with a dedicated team to address public concerns and maintain regular communication with constituents.
Gagan Thapa Says National Leadership Requires Understanding Madhes
Gagan Thapa said effective national leadership requires an understanding of the Madhes region in addition to familiarity with Kathmandu and the hill regions.
“To lead Nepal, one must also understand Madhes,” Gagan Thapa said while responding to voters in Sarlahi-4. He added that Sarlahi Constituency No. 4 would be his working constituency and that he intends to engage directly with residents.
Thapa also called on voters to support his candidacy in Sarlahi-4 over rival parties, stating that his focus would be on advancing development in the constituency.
Gagan Thapa Highlights Health Care Reform and Support for Sugarcane Farmers
Gagan Thapa said that if a Nepali Congress-led government is formed, efforts would be made to ensure citizens do not have to pay out-of-pocket for hospital treatment. He described the proposal as part of broader public health reform.
Addressing agricultural concerns in Sarlahi, Thapa said he had met the Prime Minister to discuss issues faced by sugarcane farmers. He said discussions are ongoing and described the matter as his responsibility.
Engineering College and Kidney Treatment Center Planned in Sarlahi-4
Gagan Thapa said a decision has been made to establish an engineering college in Sarlahi Constituency No. 4. He also said a kidney treatment center would be built within the constituency in the Madhes region.
He noted that election code of conduct provisions limit detailed public announcements but indicated that road infrastructure, health services, and education remain priority areas in Sarlahi-4.
Gagan Thapa said he is seeking an opportunity to work and urged voters to support him until polling day, stating that he would take responsibility for constituency issues afterward. The pledges were made during campaign activities ahead of the upcoming elections in Sarlahi Constituency No. 4.
