Kathmandu — A fire response drill was conducted at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning to strengthen emergency preparedness.

The exercise, organized by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, focused on improving response time and minimizing potential damage in the event of an aviation-related incident. The drill involved coordination among security personnel, firefighting teams, and other relevant agencies operating at the airport.

According to the authority, such exercises help assess the readiness of manpower, equipment, and operational procedures required during emergencies. The initiative is expected to enhance the efficiency and coordination of rescue and fire control operations during real incidents.

In line with standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), major airports are required to conduct such drills on a regular basis. The authority stated that Tribhuvan International Airport has been carrying out these exercises annually in compliance with those requirements.
