Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has pledged that the government will provide adequate resources to ensure Nepal’s upcoming elections are conducted in a free, fair and orderly manner, while also emphasizing political stability and economic priorities.

Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has pledged that the government will ensure sufficient resources to conduct the upcoming elections in a free, fair, and orderly manner. Speaking at a tourism-related program in Lalitpur, Khanal said there would be no shortage of financial or logistical support required for the polls.

He stated that the government’s primary focus is to guarantee credible elections and that preparations are progressing rapidly, including financial management and administrative arrangements. The minister emphasized that state resources would be mobilized transparently and efficiently to create an appropriate environment for the electoral process.

Khanal also said Nepal must move beyond prolonged political debates and instability and shift its focus toward economic priorities. He stressed that sustainable economic progress requires political stability and underscored the importance of forming a stable government after the elections to advance development initiatives.

Addressing the tourism sector, the finance minister acknowledged that a previous announcement to provide industry-level facilities to tourism businesses had not been fully implemented. He said the government is currently pursuing policy reforms aimed at strengthening the sector and improving its competitiveness.

He further highlighted the need for collaboration between the government and the private sector to support tourism and broader economic growth.

Describing political uncertainty as a significant challenge, Khanal said the government is working to guide the country toward economic stability. He expressed confidence that a stable administration formed after the elections would accelerate development programs and reinforce economic progress.
