Nepali Congress spokesperson Devraj Chalise has urged party leaders and cadres to unite and focus on strengthening the party organization, saying the current political situation should be viewed as an opportunity for self-review and rebuilding.
Expressing his views through social media, Chalise said the party should treat the recent election outcome not as a setback but as a chance to reflect, reorganize, and move forward with renewed strength.
Election Loss Should Be Seen as an Opportunity
According to Chalise, the election result should not lead to discouragement but instead serve as a moment for introspection and improvement. He said the Nepali Congress, as a historic political force in Nepal’s democratic movement, cannot be weakened by a single electoral defeat.
In his social media message, he said the party has remained resilient even in difficult circumstances and that a temporary loss cannot determine the long-term future of the Nepali Congress. He added that such challenges can help the party become more organized and mature.
Preparation for Future Elections and Party Strengthening
Chalise emphasized that the role of party cadres will be crucial in strengthening the organization and said the responsibility to reinforce the party structure lies with both leaders and grassroots members.
According to him, the current period presents an appropriate opportunity for the party to conduct internal self-evaluation while prioritizing organizational reform and the strengthening of its cadres.
Chalise also stressed the need to begin preparations for upcoming elections from now. He said it is natural for political opponents to seek opportunities to criticize the party during difficult times, but the Nepali Congress should remain focused on strengthening its organization rather than being distracted by such criticism.
He further stated that the Nepali Congress is a historic force that has led Nepal’s democratic movement and expressed confidence that the party will rise again, win elections, and lead the country in the future.
