Senior Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Balen Shah has said the Magar community’s contribution to building a just and equitable society in Nepal is historically unparalleled and deserving of respect.
In a message issued Friday on the occasion of National Magar Day, Shah said Magar communities around the world celebrate the day with enthusiasm, reflecting their strong sense of identity and unity. He acknowledged the community’s continued commitment to preserving its distinct cultural heritage.
Shah described the Magar community as rich in indigenous traditions, customs, art and traditional attire, noting that it has remained exemplary in safeguarding its ethnic identity while promoting social harmony.
Extending wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity and unity, Shah also recalled the community’s significant role in Nepal’s unification campaign. He said the bravery of the Magar people helped establish Nepal’s identity internationally.
From historical contributions to continued involvement in Nepal’s political and social transformation, Shah described the community’s role as invaluable and honorable. He emphasized that strengthening unity in diversity remains essential for Nepal’s continued progress.
