Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has been bereaved following the death of his father. Bhattarai’s father, Bhoj Prasad Bhattarai, died this morning at the age of 97. According to his family, he passed away at around 8:15 a.m.
Bhoj Prasad Bhattarai had been admitted to a neuro hospital yesterday for medical treatment after his health condition deteriorated. He died while undergoing treatment, Bhattarai’s secretariat said.
The final rites of the late Bhoj Prasad Bhattarai will be performed today at 11:00 a.m. at Pashupati Aryaghat. Messages of condolence have been expressed from various quarters, extending sympathy to the Bhattarai family during this period of mourning.
