Kathmandu — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane said Nepal’s democracy is not under threat and ruled out the possibility of authoritarianism.
Speaking at the closing session of an orientation program for newly elected lawmakers, Lamichhane said concerns about new leadership are natural but stressed that his party will act responsibly while honoring the public mandate.
He said the party will prioritize good governance, placing public trust at the center of its actions. He added that efforts will be made to establish new standards in transparency, accountability, and responsiveness, while continuing to move the country toward economic prosperity.
Lamichhane said the country is in capable and responsible hands, adding that concerns about weakening democracy or the emergence of authoritarian tendencies are unfounded. In a separate context, he said Nepal is a safe destination for investment and that an enabling environment will be created to attract both domestic and foreign investors.
