Balen Shah Thanks Narendra Modi, Pledges to Strengthen Nepal–India Relations

Newly elected RSP leader Balen Shah thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for congratulating him on his election victory and pledged to strengthen Nepal–India relations.

Kathmandu — Newly elected Member of Parliament and senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balen Shah, has thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for congratulating him on his electoral victory and expressed his commitment to further strengthening relations between Nepal and India.

Responding on social media to Modi’s message, Shah said Nepal and India share historic, close, and multi-dimensional ties and expressed confidence that the relationship between the two neighboring countries can be further strengthened through continued cooperation.

In his reply on Modi’s official X account, Shah wrote that he appreciates the congratulatory message and believes both sides can work together to make the long-standing bilateral relationship stronger, deeper, and more result-oriented in the coming days.

Shah also congratulated India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup twice consecutively, describing the achievement as a notable success in international cricket.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had informed through social media that he spoke by phone with Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane and Balen Shah, congratulating them on their success in the election.
