Gorkha — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Sudan Gurung has been elected to the House of Representatives from Gorkha Constituency No. 1 after securing 29,896 votes in the parliamentary election.
The 38-year-old Gurung, who is from Chumanubri Rural Municipality of Gorkha, defeated his closest rival Prem Kumar Khatri of the Nepali Congress, who received 15,398 votes. Meanwhile, Hari Raj Adhikari of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) secured 11,124 votes in the constituency.
With Gurung’s victory in Gorkha-1, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has won both parliamentary constituencies in Gorkha district.
